about
Like the first line of the chorus says: "Night, in your obscurity I will hide", this stand alone single consistently continues the path taken on 'How To Shroud Yourself With Night', as it comes from the studio sessions from that album. The track wasn't finished in time, so Julian and Olly got together again and finished what was started in summer 2021. Musically, the song contains some references to the band 'Sentenced', who disbanded in 2005.
lyrics
Like the first
Like the last
Be my darkness
And be my restart
Be the truth in my mouth
roll on my filthy tongue
(is it yes?)
(is it no?)
It´s the weakness we wanted to hold
For the touch
we always yearned to find
Night
In your obscurity I will hide
When there´s nothing to feel
I will understand your tears
Be the last to know
What was
As we took our faults
In our hands
As we crushed our hearts
in the love that never cared
And we´ll wither there
Like a thorn
Like a leaf
There is nothing for me to believe
be the last breath of hope
And throw my dreams away
We are one
And alone
In the bleakness we wanted to be
`till the end
We always tried to be
Night
In your obscurity I will hide
When there´s nothing to feel
I will understand your tears
Be the last to know
What was
As we took our faults
In our hands
As we crushed our hearts
in the love that never cared
And we´ll wither there
Night
In your obscurity I will hide
When there´s nothing to feel
I will understand your tears
Be the last to know…
Night
In your obscurity I will hide
When there´s nothing to feel
I will understand your tears
Be the last to know
What was
As we took our faults
In our hands
As we crushed our hearts
in the love that never cared
And we´ll wither there
